I would say that I have less gas than preop. If I have gas, it just means I

need to go to the bathroom. My bms are somewhat more frequent than preop,

but are never urgent. Well, I think it was mostly the 600cm measurement, but

I am sure the fact that I am short and have a petite build contributes to the

fact that I only had a 600cm measurement. But Dr. Hess felt my intestines

must also be quite efficient. So far his judgement has been right on the

money. I certainly did not lose excessive amount of weight, my blood work is

great, and I don't have diarrhea and gas problems. Of course in the first

few weeks post op I had diarrhea but I think it is a lucky few who don't

during the recovery period.
