Darbi pretty much walks in hers exclusively now. The caps (where the

screws are) can get a big scuffed but I haven't had to replace them

yet (although I did order an extra set just in case - $10 from

). She did bend the bar once while standing on a kid chair

brushing her teeth and it was closer to one edge than the other (she

put weight on the side hanging over the edge of the chair) so watch

for that if the occasion ever comes up. Dirk bent it back on Sunday

but I think it weakened the metal and it's slightly bent again. I may

end up putting the old bar on because of this. I think one way to

solve this problem (older kids will do more damage to the bar than

the little ones I'm sure) is to use two clamps or even three all the

way across the bar with the outside ones at the ends of each bar

where it overlaps. I may ask to send me a couple of clamps to try this...

Walking is good - way to go !!!

I'm in the *leaving them on is easier* camp too. I usually leave

hers on till about 10 am now and occasionally... since it's

easier... they stay on a bit longer than that lol. Your schedule

sounds just fine to me. We do the whole thing in one stint - about

8pm till 10am the next day and have never put them on for naps

(ewwww... too hard for lazy me!). When she was taking two naps a

day sometimes the second nap would come shortly before or around when

I would normally take them off and I would lie her down in them get

an extra hour or two even. Easier to just lie her down with them on

when nap time came than to bother with taking them off. I also don't

have any kind of schedule for naps so they often would just *happen*

and there she was... asleep happy as can be in her shoes. :~}

Glad to hear he's so happy with them. His transition to the bar has

been remarkable. If can go to a bar like this without issues,

any older baby can!

hummm... it's not the evil bar they think it is, is it? Wonder that

they haven't bothered to call you and see how he's doing since the

*bar* was supposed to be such a big deal and they expected bad

things. It's like they really don't care huh? Just another number I guess...

Lilee is in the PM for 16-18/7. I take her out from 8:30am to 11-12pm then again

from 6pm-9pm. This gives her time to have floor time and that time to build her

gross motor skills. She is 7 1/2 months old, so she does sleep for about 2hrs of

that, but alls well. She cant crawl or anything yet, and I know your not at

those times yet, but hopefully this helps a little. I still think her CF leg is

longer than the other, but Im not sure if this is her cause for not crawling

yet. I would say its about 1/2 " -1 " difference.

I was wondering the same thing! Lucas has started cruising in his

and I remember reading in the pamphlet that came with it that the

brace was alright to stand in, but wasn't made for walking. So, I've

got an email in to Dr. Ponseti. I'll let you know what he says.

lol, maybe it wasn't made for walking but it sure works fine! Much

better in fact than the Markells with either the red or gold bar. I

absolutely consider them made for walking. Or rather, my 3yo

daughter does. You should see her go!

That's good to hear! I was wondering how in the world I would keep a

15 month old from walking in his brace if he wanted to. He's

becoming very independent and stubborn!!! I wonder where he got that

from.....

I think the s will withstand the pivoting. Way to go!!

Standing is such an achievement and I think being mobile in " The

Skateboard " as we affectionately call the s, is great. Any

concerns, just call . he's very nice.
