Guest guest
My surgeon also requires an endoscopy...I had mine done last month. It was a breeze. The hardest part was when the anesthesiologist put the medicine in my IV to knock me out, that hurt a bit...my IV was in the back of my hand & the medicine made my hand ache and feel very warm, but this passed in a few seconds, then I was out like a light. I don't remember anything until I woke up in recovery. Didn't even have a sore throat or any discomfort in my throat at all. Unfortunately, my biopsy did come back positive for h-pylori, so I did the antibiotics for 14 days. My gastroenterologist will repeat the endoscopy/biopsy in a few weeks to make sure the bacteria is gone. I'm okay with that, since the first experience was so easy. Don't sweat it, you'll be fine! Guest guest
Hi Shari- Thanks so much for the the info on your own experience. This procedure is like a double whammy for me. I have a huge gag factor (tongue depressors make me gag) and needles...ouch...lol. It's like someone picked out 2 of things I hate most and decided to torture me by putting them into this one procedure By the way...who is your surgeon? Keep your fingers crossed that I don't have the bacteria...I really don't want to have this endoscopy twice. Take care,
