Guest guest
It's right under the edge of the buckle on the middle strap....Now that I look at it....it's the exact size and length of the edge of the buckle...what would be the best way to pad it? Thanks,
Guest guest
Kori, Thanks for the suggestions! We tried to loosen up the buckle at the rivet. We padded beneath the buckle with some gauze for tonight and I'm going shopping for some mole foam tomorrow morning! The buckle edge is against the tongue of the shoe but you can see a mark on the tongue right where it hits her sock/foot. Thanks again and I will let you know tomorrow how her foot looks! & Mallory
Guest guest
Is it under the rivet perchance? Guest guest
Hi , had some red marks with the s at the beginning. They were on the side of one foot (the outside) and on both of her big toes. (She has funny curved toes.) She didn't have any on the top of her feet, though. I padded the red areas with cast gauze for about a month and the spots slowly (VERY slowly) went away. I now don't need to use any padding and only see very faint red marks on her toes which fade quickly. I think padding it will take care of it, but don't expect that it will fade overnight. It might take some time. From what I have read on this group, as well as my own experience, red marks which don't get any worse are not usually a problem. I really think it will probably be fine. From what I read here, it is almost impossible to make the shoes too tight. I always worry about making them too tight, too, but they seem okay for that way. Carol and , bcf, 10-27-05, s 23/7 Help! A red mark!! Hello, We started Mallory in the PM's on Wednesday and she continues to adjust very very well! She has already mastered how to move her feet in unison! And for the most part she is her happy self. The probelm is.....she has a red mark on her cf on the top of her foot right underneath where the buckle is. It started on the first day....it doesn't look like a blister or a pressure area....we put moleskin on her sock over that area but it's still there tonight. Is this something that we need to be worried about? Any suggestions? Are we making the shoe too tight? & Mallory (rcf- PM's 23/7)
Guest guest
, I don't know exactly how to advise you but I know Kori or someone else will know exactly what to do. What I did with 's red spots is to fold up some casting gauze (what I had on hand which actually worked just fine) and placed it between the shoe and her sock where the red spots were. I think you could put some padding on the top of her foot over her sock and then put the middle strap of the shoes on. Might be a bit tricky but I think it will work. That is my thought, anyway. Guest guest
is the buckle actually touching her sock/foot? Can you break the buckle free at the rivet so it swivels? (it should swivel) Then, try to reposition the buckle and strap in a better spot. Mole skin and mole foam are both good options for padding, and that casting gauze sounds like a good option too. Something soft but not too bulky. try padding the shoe itself with the mole foam on the leather under the buckle instead of her foot, should reduce the pressure on her foot. hope that helps! Let me know how it goes, I like to know if the things I suggest actually work :~} Kori At 07:04 PM 3/9/2006, you wrote: >It's right under the edge of the buckle on the middle strap....Now that I >look at it....it's the exact size and length of the edge of the >buckle...what >would be the best way to pad it? > >Thanks, > > > > >
Guest guest
My daugheter has the same problem. I personally really have to watch them because they turn into ulcers on her foot. They start out red and hot. The skin is real irritated. The top layer skin peels off, then it indents, and there is a horrible looking sore. I recently had her buckle moves fater forwards, and lower on her shoe. This has helped. She still will get a red mark if I strap them too tight, but I just use Mole Foam to keep too much from it. I have only been doing this for about 2 weeks, but so far, so good for us.
