Question about swollen spot on head

Hi,

Our daughter just began treatment in a DOC band about 10 days ago. We are

already seeing some improvement which is good. Last night when we removed her

band to clean it we noticed an area that appeared to be swollen. The spot is

fairly large and is located on her right side just above the seam in the band,

in an area that has a cut out so that the band isn't touching her head there.

We became alarmed and were afraid that growth was occurring in a spot where it

shouldn't be, so we took off the band overnight. This morning we took her to

Cranialtech to have it looked at and we were told that the swollen spot is

simply fluid under the skin. They assured us that this is normal and that it

happens all the time in that particular spot above the seam because the fluid in

the head gravitates toward that open area of the band. They said that it would

slowly go away after treatment in the band is completed. Is this really normal?

Has anyone else had this happen? We want to believe what they told us, but we

would be devastated if we were causing a bulge to grow unintentionally. Any

information would be appreciated.
