Guest guest
Notice that Dr. Cummings' paper on Botox (paper number 251) basically says that it does jack shit (pardon my language). I feel like writing to him and telling him thank you and I wouldn't mind having a full copy of his paper. jennyandkelly wrote: There were a lot of presentations on clubfoot at the AAOS meeting in Chicago this week. Here is a link to the podium presentations on Thursday (I counted 12 presentations on clubfoot): http://www3.aaos.org/anmeet2006/podium/ppr06_23.cfm Here's the link to the main page about the meeting in general: http://www.aaos.org/wordhtml/am2006.htm Regards, & (3-16-00, left clubfoot)
Guest guest
and when you get it, you can snail mail her a copy (or 10 for emphasis) and a picture of your son's beautifully corrected feet with a big PHHHUUUUUTTTTTTTT!!!!!! (raspberries) as a caption :~} yes... saw that one too and I think your description is very apt. I kinda wonder if perhaps those words weren't muttered by the researchers at least once behind closed doors... kinda makes you wonder though... what does it take to get a parent to sign their child up for research that may or may not include botox or placebo to lengthen the Achilles and complete the CF correction? hummmm... Guest guest
I was wondering that, too. With a randomized double blind study, you'd potentially be delaying the treatment of your child. Alvarez's study is neither blind nor random and we were just asked to be a part of it. Sure, why not? Now there was a decision that bit us in the butt. I'm still trying to find an email address for the presenting doctor, but I may have to snail mail him. I'll let you know if I have any success! frogabog wrote: and when you get it, you can snail mail her a copy (or 10 for emphasis) and a picture of your son's beautifully corrected feet with a big PHHHUUUUUTTTTTTTT!!!!!! Guest guest
, I don't think their findings are published yet but I usually have access to full text articles through the University here. I can probably get you a copy once it is published.
