Our son is 3 next week and I just rang our Physio (we are in the UK) who has

been treating Connor with the Ponseti method (up to now!!!) to get a new

pair of shoes. He had a size 4 which I have just changed to a 4.5 but they

seem to be the older style that first came out in the new style shoes with

the short strap - anyway they aren't any bigger than the 4 so I rang her to

ask for a bigger size and also we have an adjustable red bar which is

breaking around where the bolt joins the shoe. The left shoe is no longer

completely fixed it moves about all over the place so I was hoping to get a

new bar as well - no chance of that - she has decided that he can come out

of the shoes and she is going to 'make' a night brace for him. I have to go

tomorrow to get below the knee casts so she can make the mould for the night

splints - I reckon she is talking about AFO's?????? Anyway the last 6 months

has been a nightmare keeping Connor in his shoes I have to say but we haven

t missed a night and I have been taping the shoes onto him, he doesn't undo

them he wriggles his foot out which is why one of them is so loose. If I

tape them onto his socks he pulls them off aswell, so I have to make sure I

do loads of tape over his pyjamas and around his shoes and then it is a

right mess in the morning but at least he keeps them on!!! I am really

worried now what he is going to wear and I wonder if I can Steve to try and

sort out the bar and see if anyone has a spare size 5 or 5.5 that I can have

or buy just to get us through another 6 months at least. I was planning on

him being in the shoes till he was about 4 not 3.
