Guest guest
I must say that I am freaking out right now. Especially because I can't come to the convention and see Dr. H. Storm has pubic hair! (this could explain a lot of his behaviors!!!) Is there anything in writing about what Dr. H does for these kids!? Our endo takes a wait and see approach and does not want to delay puberty. He bases it all on the hormone levels in the blood work, which have shown nothing up to this point. Jenn, what would I need to do to get to the convention. (Just Storm and I!) Are there any articles about the treatments Dr. H does? I just don't know what to do, and I don't want all of those years on Gh to go to waist!!! Thanks, Carmen, mom to Storm, 57 pounds, 49 1/2 inches
Guest guest
Oh Carmen I can understand why you are freaking out. I hope you get some answers. Guest guest
Hi Carmen I can't help with the convention, but I will tell you, Adam had (well he still does) little hairs around his genitals about a year and a half ago. I flipped out! Much the same as you are now! I couldn't wait to get to my endo. and emailed him immediately and phoned him! Turns out that the hairs are not as important as the size of the testicles. In other words, are they getting bigger? The endo. checked his testicles and said they were not " in puberty " and I didn't have to be concerned. Well I still was! But a year and a half has gone by and nothing else has happened. He was just at the endo's again a month ago, and no change (in fact my endo wants him to have a bit of testosterone in the fall, when he turns 13, because puberty is NO where on the horizon). Take a deep breathe and see what happens. Can you get the ped. or endo to check his testicle size? (they have these balls on a rope <sounds bizarre I know> and they hold one ball and one testicle and compare). Good luck Carmen and I hope this all works out! Guest guest
thanks guys, I am feeling better! " Balls on a rope " Deb!!! LOL! Thanks for the grin!!!! I needed it! I will be taking Storm next week to have labs and bone age xrays done, and then we have an endo appt. on Aug.1. I still wish we could see Dr. H, but things being the way they are, it's just not going to be possible this year! (Thanks for telling me your story, it is comforting!) blessings, Carmen, mom to Storm, age 9y 11m, 57 pounds & 49 1/2 inches
Guest guest
Carmen, When Max was about Storm's age, maybe a little younger, he began to take Arimidex. I just remember Dr. H. doing some bloodwork to check his levels of whatever (old age has set in and I can't remember which test is which anymore between Max's, mine and Jenna's bloodwork). Then he started on Arimidex, and awhile later we had to begin the Zoladex treatments. That, however, was much later. If it helps any, Max is in full puberty now, T4 was the measurement Dr. H. got from her " balls on a rope, " but his bone age is 3 years delayed. I don't know if you read my post awhile back, but she upped his projected final height to 5'8 " from 5'6 " because he has so much more time to grow and his rate is so high right now. Please don't let that endo be too relaxed about the Arimidex, however. You don't want to wait too long and then find out that adrenarche has advanced and you could have delayed it.
