Guest guest
> Oh boy.......its really becoming a reality, isnt it? > Yes it is definitely becoming a reality. I already know that they will be putting me out for the endoscopy...but oddly I seem to be more nervous about this procedure then the actual surgery..lol. Weird huh? Maybe it's because the endoscopy is so soon. I sometimes feel as if I should be more nervous about the surgery, but I just feel so hopefull. Hopefull that the surgery will be a success and that my life and health can finally be everything I'd hoped it would be. I'm sure I'll be more nervous right before the surgery but for now I am just glad that I feel so excited about the changes in my future. Ok...here goes with a couple of questions. While I was meeting with the nutritionist she mentioned that I when I am post-op I should eat pureed and soft food for the first 4 weeks...stay away from meats and anything too chewy...like beef, chicken, turkey, breads, nuts..etc. She suggested that I should eat eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, applesauce, baby food etc. What do you think? What did you tend to eat during your first 4 weeks? I understand that we are all different and that some foods will react differently for each person, but pureed food for the first 4 weeks sounds a little odd compared to what I have heard from you and others. Any suggestions? Also, I have heard you mention a few times the " good bacteria " (can't remember the name off the top of my head) can you explain why I would need this? Where would I get it? And, how do I use it? Lastly...(for now..lol) should I buy vitamins and stuff before the surgery or wait? I appreciate the help Hugs,
Guest guest
, I think the nutritionists are a bit too cautious. We had to stay in a hotel nearby the doctor for a few days after I was discharged from the hospital. By day 7 post op, I was eating egg drop soup since we ordered from a Chinese restaurant nearby. I decided to try a chicken dish. I got a velveted chicken (no bread coating) with green beans Then just chewed really good (after all pureed baby food is just very ground up food). The chicken went down great and I even had a couple green beans. After that I tried everything, just made sure to chew really well and that all the meats weren't dried out.
