If I had a WLS that offered me nothing more than misery, punishment, and a never-ending diet plan...I would be absolutely suicidal. Maybe we shouldn't be surprised that RNYers seem so angry and bitter toward DSers. I haven't been around the online WLS world very long, but I see a fair amount of disrespect between the two different surgery pre/post- op'ers going in both directions. Why is that? Why can't we live and let live? I'm not accusing any individual of anything, just giving my general impressions. If someone on this list has opted to have an RNY, why should they be made to feel as though they've stumbled into enemy territory? Why should a DS'er be made to feel the same way if they subscribe to an RNY list? I don't understand. It reminds me of the superbowl. Can anyone enlighten me? Guest guest
I stopped really reading the list the day that a woman came on the list and posted that she was living on 3 Isopure a day because she was afraid to eat because she didnt want to regain weight....and one poster her back that, that seemed unhealthy the entire list came to crucify that woman....accusing of her being a fat promoter......and wanting this woman to regain weight...that is when I had enough and I now SKIM very QUICKLY Lisbeth Magruder wrote: Just go over to the OSSG list right now and look at today's posts!: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OSSG/ Several post-ops are talking about how they have joined Weight Watchers. Someone else posted to bemoan that she's gone " off the narrow path " and is eating too many sweets, and not dumping! People are replying to her with typical diet mentality talk about how to avoid " cheating " . And that's just from a cursory scan of today's subject matter there. It was reading those types of posts there 2.5 years ago that made it know that RNY wasn't for me, no how no way. Guest guest
ditto melanie- cruising the OSSG list confirmed my decision on DS. What I found very scary were posts asking how to get phen-fen, and other drugs over the net- why go through surgery and still put yourself through all those dieting horrors ???? I was ready to die before going through yet another gimmick diet, that I KNEW I would fail- and there is no way of winning those diets- 2% make it after 10 years- (yes I have a medical background, done the MedLine searches) I know I am not a 2 percenter > Just go over to the OSSG list right now and look at today's posts!: > > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OSSG/ > > Several post-ops are talking about how they have joined Weight Watchers. > Someone else posted to bemoan that she's gone " off the narrow path " and > is eating too many sweets, and not dumping!
