Hi. I'm 6 months post-op and am having trouble keeping food down. Not all

the time. For instance, one night I can eat a steak with no problem and the

next night I promptly vomit. We even went out to a buffet and I must have

easten 4 lbs of snow crabs with no problem. Tonight, I ate steak, my stomach

had terrible pains and I promptly vomited. After that, I felt fine. Has

anyone else had this problem? Thanks,

i have had trouble since 3 mos out too with " deja food " . never puked

early on. just the last month or two. sometimes things go down

easy, and next time - look out, here it comes back! could be the fat

content of the food. i know some cuts of meat are fattier than

others, so pay attention to that and see if it makes a difference for

you. some fried fish gets to me too, but others are ok. so it may

be what it is fried in. i have also tried to be more careful not to

push how full i get. i tend to try to get just a " couple more bites "

in. and i think that is sometimes what pushes the barf button. my

eyes are still learning what a sensible meal portion looks like now.

and still talking about volume of food, i know i can eat alot more of

some foods than others. some just sit like a rock on my tummy, but

others i can just cram in. so it is trial and error as we start

eating a bigger variety of foods. one thing is for sure, i remember

very clearly what doesn't stay down! i leave it alone for a while,

but usually try a small portion again sometime later to see how it

goes. sometimes the " while " is a week, sometimes a month or more.

but i haven't puked now for a couple of weeks, so maybe things are

settling down, or i am just being more careful. whichever, i'm glad

to not be puking every couple of days or so.

hope you start doing better with this too.
