Guest guest
I was told by our GI (and then Dr. H said the same thing, which was really weird), that many underweight children who also suffer from reflux often gravitate towards carbohydrates naturally (as if their bodies know that they need carbos to function for energy. But that when a child's blood sugar is dropping, you will often see children seemingly naturally gravitate towards sugary foods -- as if they inherently know to eat a sugary item. Also, that kids with reflux seemingly gravitate towards spicier foods.... and NOT sweet foods. No study that I know if -- but he said that it may be that the kids are using to that burning sensation and hence, like the spicier foods. OR that the spicier foods cover up/mask the bad taste they often have in their mouths.... Hmmm... interesting thoughts. Jenn
