Guest guest
Please be aware of the differences between EMLA and ELA-MAX (refer to the last page of our RSS/SGA section of the MAGIC Touch newsletter each quarter). EMLA is a vasicular constricting medication, prescription only, that works to numb the skin and the layers under it. Very good for intramuscular injections!!!! ELA-MAX is the " old " name of the product made by Ferndale Labs. Over- the counter (does NOT need a prescription), also a skin numbing cream. This product is NON-vasicular constricting -- which makes it more ideal for blood draws (vasicular constricting means the veins get smaller -- so NON v.c. means it does NOT make the veins get smaller). However, Ferndale Labs renamed their product. ELA-MAX is now called L.M.X.4 (don't ask me why). Many hospitals' lab depts also use a freezing spray -- but I have been told that you really need to know what you are doing with that -- and home use isn't ideal.... But you can ask the hospital if they have that -- it works instantaneously (whereas EMLA and LMX4 take 20 minutes minimum, sometimes 30-45 minutes ideal). > The numbing cream is Ella Max... > > > > Mom to Jed and Liam > Orlando Fl > > Family and Breeding Website > > >
