Guest guest
We don't have experience yet, but we saw Dr. Frick on Monday and he indicated it depends on the heal, but in some cases (like ours) that it might be 18 months or later. heel down time frame how long does it take for the heel to " come down " when being treated with the ponseti method? Guest guest
Again, I'm not an expert, but the way he explained it the heal bone does not sit in the back/bottom of the foot in a club foot -- it's shifted up and in some. The heal that we see has more tissue between it and the bone than a non-club foot. The correction gets the shape of the foot, but doesn't automatically move this tissue out of the way, and it takes a while of having the foot in the correct position for the tissue to slowly move out and allow the heal bone to come down into the right place. I understand this is one reason the heal does not sit flat in the shoes, and that it's normal. Someone who knows more about this than me feel free to chime in. heel down time frame how long does it take for the heel to " come down " when being treated with the ponseti method?
