Guest guest
Hi Ru - While I was still in the hospital, I tried to navigate with one of the spoons wrapped in a handi-wipe. I never could figure out how to make it work. I am sure that others will have the key to this mystery. Nick, You put your left leg in; you pull your left leg out; you twist and you shimmy, and you give a great big shout--that's what it's all about! --S --

Guest guest
Hi Ru, I start by putting the end of my strip of toilet paper over the spoon end, then start wrapping the toilet paper (loosely) around it, then wrap a couple of times down the length of the handle, ending where you will be holding the it. That way you can keep a thumb over the end of the paper so it doesn't come right off. After you wipe (using the wrapped end), you can either slide the paper off the end (depending upon how loosely you wrapped the paper) or unwind it and drop it gracefully into the toilet bowl. It's an art. Start practicing now. Jean. Guest guest
Hi Ru: This really stumped me pre-op as well, but let's just say necessity truly is the mother of invention. Get the really LONG handled tongs, you'll still need to bend a bit, but not as much as you'd need to without the tongs. You'll also need to get pretty creative as far as getting the paper/wipes positioned properly in the tongs. Practice makes perfect, and after about a week you'll be a master. Also, my 4 yr. old daughter has a little stepstool she uses in the bathroom, I found that I could reach much better if I put it next to the toilet and rested my foot on it! Okay, way too much information!
