Homeschooling advise for reading

Penny,

A reading approach that I recommend highly is Reading Reflex by Carmen and

Geoffrey McGuiness. I think it's one of the best methods out there. I've

used it with my son and have heard good things about it from other

homeschooling parents as well. It's pretty inexpensive, too---about $20.00

or less. Also, a good book to read is: Why Our Children Can't Read and

What We Can Do About It " by Dianne McGuinness. She does an good job of

explaining what reading is all about and what you need to do to teach it.

Most libraries have this book so you shouldn't have to buy it. (BTW, if

you're noticing the same last names, it's because Dianne McGuinness is

Geoffrey's mom and Carmen's mom-in-law.)

Wishing you the best,

Ann
