Guest guest
Welcome! My son was the same age when he was fitted for his band, but his measurements were plagio. I'm sure someone here has/had similar measurements. Congrats on getting the process started! > > Hello everyone I'm Jen, my son Ethan is 8.5 months old and will be getting casted tomorrow for his Starband. He has a 7mm asymmetry and a cephalic index of 98.7%. I thought his head was flat but not this flat or I would have pushed for referral months ago! I just wanted to introduce myself and ask it anyone else has a child with similar measurements to let me know what you experience has been like. > Thanks :-) >
Guest guest
Hi Jen, My daughter got a starband at 5 mo old. Her ortho (starscanner) measured her at 97% and 4.5 mm asymmetry. Our docs hand measurements were a bit worse. She got down to about 86% and 3.5mm. She wore her starband for 5 mo. I was also surprised when I found out how flat her head was. To be honest I never looked at the shape straight down from the top until I knew it was really bad. Then it really hit me. My daughter's head is still not prefect, but probably that is only noticed by me. I hope your son will get good correction too. Let us know how he does. -christine sydney, 4.5 yrs, starband grad > > Hello everyone I'm Jen, my son Ethan is 8.5 months old and will be getting casted tomorrow for his Starband.
