Guest guest
Hey Chrissy, I'm so sorry to hear that you have to stay longer. I know how we felt when B was there, and we were anxious to get home. Just know that it's for the best, and when this is all behind you, it won't seem as bad as it does now. You're both in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully this whole ordeal will end soon! HUGS!!! Pat (g-ma to , RSS, 3 yrs 8 months old, 24.5#, 34 " , G-tube, GHT) PS - just got out of the hospital Tuesday, and he's heading back to the ER as I type! He vomiting, so that usually means a 48-72 hour stay at minimum.
Guest guest
Thanks Chrissy, With all that you and Maddy are going through, this really isn't all that bad. When B starts vomiting, we take him into the ER, insist on a D10 IV and removal of all feeds for 24 hours, then slowly restart feeds. For some reason this seems to reset his system. The last time I took him in for vomiting, the Dr spent the first 36+ hours putting me on a major guilt trip about the protocol, acting like I was starving the kid for NO reason, UNTIL it worked!! Then she was all apologetic, and telling me how we should have this written out because it's not the " normal " way of doing things. I was like " whatever " !! Hopefully his mother won't get hassled about the protocol. And I would love to go there, at least Dr H wouldn't be arguing about the protocol for vomiting! LOL HUGS!!
