Hi,

I am really torn bc I don't know if I want to take this step to try

going corn free. I have been thinking about it, as you know. Anyway,

my concern is that when we started gfcf 3 mos ago, Jane's eczema (I'm

using that as a general term, as that's what the derms always called

it) went completely away for the first time in her life! It has

slowly returned. Not as bad, but it comes and goes. It flares up

after chocolate, I know. I just am wondering what else could be in

her diet that has caused the eczema to reappear. I am assuming that

there is a hidden allergy that is appearing now that we have

eliminated many of the troublmakers. My instinct tells me corn, bc

that is in everything and she is addicted to tortilla chips. I just

don't know if giving up corn in her diet is worth it vs. dealing with

some eczema. I wonder if the eczema will worsen as she cont. to eat

the corn-or whatever is causing the problem. I don't mean to sound

insensitive. I'm sure you who are corn free know what an undertaking

it is, and I just am not sure..She's too little to allergy test with

any success, I think. We use Darifree lately as I am trying to avoid

an allergy to soy. So, don't think it could be the soy. We are

additive/color free for the most part. Mainly her diet is potato

chips, tortilla chips, french fries, hamburgers, Gorilla Munch, peas,

mayonnaise.Does anything stand out to anyone? Thanks for any input. I

hate to take the corn-free plunge as I am sure it will take some

convincing for my dh to go along with it. He's fully supportive of

gfcf, but thinks a little eczema is worth her being able to eat more

normally. Everyone in my family has eczema, so it's really not that

big an issue for me. I just feel for a little child who is

uncomfortable. Ok, I've gone on enough and probably lost 1/2 of you.

LOL Thanks, again!
