Guest guest
has been on Risperidone (Risperdal) most of the time for the past 3 years. I say most of the time, because he goes on drug holidays when the medicine's effects diminish. When we start him back up again, we can see some improvement. is on this for different reasons, but he also has OCD. Unfortunately, this medication has not helped with the OCD behaviors, but it is the ONLY medication (and believe me we have tried many), that has helped him with his mood & irritability. A beneficial side effect of Risperdal is that it is an appetite stimulant that is supposed to be more powerful than Cyproheptadine (Periactin).
