I am so disappointed. I was hoping that the weight loss would at least improve the pain but it has gotten worse. I find myself shutting myself off from the world. It is just so hard to deal with this much pain. Well enough winning. Please just send all your prayers and good vibes to Hillsboro Oregon. I really am a good person but feel lke the Grinch on steroids lately. Thank God I have an understanding family!! >> Deana: I'm so sorry to hear about your condition... I can totally understand how you wouldn't want to exercise (or even be able to) with such extreme pain. I have sciatica in my lower back -- holy Cow, when that acts up I can barely walk at times! I used to take massive doses of ibuprofin (a nono now after surgery) to help me become more mobile - then I could walk, etc. without incident. But, I'm sure my case is nowheres near as dehabilitating as yours --- You are in my thoughts and prayers. Congrats on the weight loss! I hope you are feeling better soon... and able to become pain-free. all the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 10 months post-op and still feelin fabu preop: 307 lbs/bmi 45 now: 198 lbs/size sweet
Guest guest
piriformis syndrome>>>> Deana, what is that? pinched sciatic nerve running thru your hip? Let me tell you I know how painful sciatica can be and is......I suffer from it now due to arthritis in my knee and becuz my knee hurts when I walk, I walk compensating for the bad knee and in return I get the sciatica. Its no fun, let me tell you. Sometimes its so bad that I can lose my balance just by pressing down on that leg to take a step! Youve got some prayers winging your way all the way from Idaho and me! Guest guest
Hi Deana, I am so sorry about your pain. I don't know what piriformis syndrome is but I do know about the sciatic. I had a ruptured disk and had to have surgery in 1996. I was laid up for 6 months. I was in constant pain and it is hard to deal with. I don't know if this will help but I was told by my doctor and physical therapist that whenever you feel pain shooting down your leg than you need to get off of it. And that also means no sitting. I was advised to lay on my back with my feet elevated like in a sitting position. Don't stretch your leg out. It really does help for awhile. I don't know how much you are hurting but I hope that your sciatic does not pain you for long. I stil have sciatic pain occasionally that is why I really want this surgery because I have been told that the excess weight on my tummy can put a strain on my sciatic. Good Luck!
