We started him out in stride rite, but he also had cheaper shoes and now has new

balance. I would just make sure the shoe is sturdy and a high top probably

wouldn't hurt. Basically, look for a shoe that you would buy a toddler just

learning to walk with or without clubfeet!

What type of shoes do your kids wear when they are not in the DBBs &

My husband was born with BCF & my mother-in-law said that (30 years

ago) he had to wear special orthopedic shoes when he wasn't in

the " boots & bar " . Maybe it was because he wasn't treated with the

Ponseti method (he actually had a tendon transplant).

Thanks!

they say barefooted is best, otherwise just any shoe that fits well, comfortable

to the child, as you would with any normal foot. Try not to be too much of a

slave to fashion as those are generally not all that comfy.

I have found that Vans Emory V style is best with GAbe's fat and wide feet. I've

seen them in sizes 3 +. Before that we had him in any of the XW STride Rites.

I think brand is going to depend on the width of your child's foot.

We started out in Target brand shoes (Genuine Kids), and were also

able to get Payless shoes too. But now Aleksander's feet have

gotten much wider and the only brand that seems to work for him are

the Stride Rites. Thankfully we have an outlet nearby because holy

cow are they expensive!

If you aren't lucky enough to have an outlet, Nordstroms has decent

sales from time to time.

New Balance also seemed to be fit well, but we've been able to find

Stride Rites cheaper so far.
