We had a great time at the walk for MAGIC in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Altogether we had about 50 people show up. We had a 50 yard dash for

the kids and March of Dimes sponsored a clown. We also had pizza,

fruit, drinks, cookies and candy. We even got news coverage with

the local news station! They were actually there for another

organization, but we had them come over to see what we were doing

and they put it on the air. s and I also did a radio

interview on Wednesday and the Forum News put the story in their

paper. I haven't received all the pledges yet, but it looks like we

did close to $2000. I'll let you know once I get them all in.

The weather was absolutely beautiful. A little chilly in the

morning, but then warmed up very nicely.

I guess the only bad thing that happened was some of my volunteers

got cussed out by a group of kids who were with another

organization. They wanted us to share the candy with them and when

the volunteer told them it was for the kids in the walk they threw a

fit and cussed her out. I also booked the park 3 months ago and

that same organization moved in on us. We even had to move our

registration tables to another location.

All in all though it was a great time. I'm pooped, but gearing up

for next year's walk already.

To the Tri-state walk, I will be thinking of you tomorrow and

hoping that it doesn't rain. Have alot of fun!

Congratulations Tammy. Take a long rest today, you deserve it.

It's about 7:10 a.m. I'm heading for the shower to get ready to leave to the Tri

State Gathering and Walk. I have to re-pack my car of paper goods and pick up

the big stock pot of homemade chicken noodle soup my brother in law made. I'm

seeing peeks of the morning sun and the forecast is looking up. Cloudy, breezy

with some sun high of 57. Not sure if that's good or bad - ha.

We'll let you know how we make out.
