Hi my daughter has been in her locband for 3 and a half weeks she has just

turned 6 month old and has 15 mm plagio and 101% brachy i was just wondering if

any other parents who have had a little one with the same measurements could

tell me how long there lo was in the helmet for? also does anyone experience a

lump on the babys forhead from where the helmet sits? i took her to the clinic

and they shaved a bit off the helmet but it still is leaving her a sore :o( my

daughter is fine with the helmet now but screams when we put it on her so im

wondering if we are hurting her,i would really love to throw the helmet in the

bin but i know i just have to stick with it for my daughters sake...

Try vaseline. Does her forehead protrude normally? That's one thing the helmet is also suppose to help with. Try it for a week and if she still has the red spot take it back in until they fit it correctly. From: brkesumsmith <brkesumsmith@...>Plagiocephaly Sent: Mon, December 20, 2010 1:44:00 PMSubject: Hi my daughter has been in her locband for 3 and a half weeks

Our numbers were a bit higher and we began at 4 1/2 months. He just turned 10 months two days ago and will graduate from his second band in three weeks. As far as the sores, we had slight red marks and they shaved it down for him as well. Is the mark on the front from sleeping on her stomach?

Good luck:)

My daughter started at 96% and graduated at 85% after 5 mo. She started at 5 mo

old. She only had 4.5mm of asymmetry, so we didn't worry about improving that.

In your case you need improvement in both areas so you may see the plagio

improve first. If the forehead is red, but lightens when the band is off, and

doesn't get worse it should be okay. Just watch if it is getting worse -if the

skin breaks down you'll have to wait for it to heal and keep it off. If it is a

" sore " or any kind of blister or scab keep the band off for it to heal.
