I finally started keeping a journal of infractions and significant behavior after. We noticed over time that certain behaviors only seemed to occur within the week following an infraction. This was hard to even convince myself of being related, it's such a stretch from 'normal' thinking. So for instance, (4yrs9mos & GFCF since end of last year) would pee on the floor always within a few days of cheating on the diet. He's only wet his bed once or twice since completing potty training, both a day or two after infractions. He once got up and walked out of the house and into the woods nearby (very scary as you can imagine) days after an infraction. And last spring he was dx'd with asthma and prescribed albuterol. This occurred about 4 mo's after starting the diet, during spring break so with him and his two older sisters around all week he had several cheating episodes. The asthma went away as quickly as it came, with several progressively less severe occurrences in the following months, each a day or two after a cheating episode. More evidence in my opinion of the worthiness of the diet. I'm convinced that my son's asthma was actually a symptom of opiate withdrawal. Anyway, I started keeping a journal. But then we gave 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda mixed with juice after two infractions, and since then half an HFS papaya enzyme tablet (adult dose 3 whole tablets) after the last two infractions. These seemed to work, so the journal idea is out the window, and our son's doing better than ever. >Ross has been peeing in the potty kinda for a little over 2 months >now. At this point unless we happen to notice him going, it's all done w/o our knowledge. The kid's got a strong bladder, and doesn't like us to tell him what to do... runs in the family I'm afraid. I respectfully suggest you keep doing what you're doing. Sounds like your son's progressing well. Our son went through similar types of things while learning toileting. For instance, he kept dry all day at the County Fair, about 8 months before becoming accident free... it took us that long. It seemed like a motivational rather than ability thing from what I could see.
