Guest guest
Hello all- I haven't been on in a while. We were out of town earlier in July visiting familly. Ethan got sick while were there, passed it on to his little brother, then me. Aidan and I were still not in great shape when it was time to leave for the convention, so we didn't attend. I was disappointed--I had looked forward to meeting many of you! My husband and Ethan came up for part of Friday and Saturday, but my husband said they didn't make it to all he had hoped, and so most of you probably didn't meet them. Today Ethan just started showing signs of being sick again and I feel like it will never end. It seems like he picks up something every four to six weeks (or less), and now that we have Aidan, he's in on it too. Ethan has been on asthma meds since about nine months old and has been to the ER or admitted to the hospital a number of times with respiratory issues. His pulmonologist thinks he'll grow out of it, since we have no family history of asthma, but until then it seems like an endless cycle of sickness that is so exhausting for all of us. I know some of you are going/have gone through much more with your children and I shouldn't complain, but has anyone dealt with similar issues as ours and seen improvement as their child got older? We are likely going to start GHT with Ethan in the fall, and the pulmonologist feels that will help him with the respiratory issues also, since growth will help his airways mature and handle things better. Guest guest
Stacey: I just wanted to let you know that my son, , who is now 8 years old had respiratory problems since birth. Same thing...numerous trips and hospital stays due to this. I will say that as he has gotten older, he's gotten much better. Every year that passed he wasn't as bad as the previous year. At first it was small changes, but then longer period of times would be between each respiratory sickness. He was diagnosed with asthma at an early age so he's been on albuterol, which has helped. However, I think the biggest reason for his improvement is just the fact he got bigger and older. His body became stronger. I know it's scary when they are so tiny and can easily get sick. I'm sure you are doing a great job and staying on top of the early signs of getting sick. Hang in there...it will get better. Stacie > Hello all- > > I haven't been on in a while.
