Guest guest
Hi nne, " I'm going to Dr. Gagner's... I'm not sure what to expect. " If Gagner is anything like Quinn, expect a very thorough discussion about your medical and weight loss history, as well as details about the different procedures. Quinn listened to my concerns and fears, and made me feel that I was making a good choice. She also examined my stomach - which kinda surprised me. " You mentioned that you hoped to have surgery in December during semester break... wow " Hope springs eternal. Dr. Quinn said that an early date is possible, but it all depends on insurance approval. I expect my last pre-op test to be completed this Thursday. " Anyway, I'm so sorry to hear about the evil nutritionist lady... I heard she was rotten from a friend of mine who went through lap BPD/DS there. " Thanks for the kind words. I wonder which is the good, and which is the evil nutritionist? I certainly can't handle being reduced to tears twice in the same week. " I thought they wouldn't do it if your BMI wasn't 40+. Very enlightening! " I have POMCO insurance, and the criteria is either a 40+ BMI or 35-40 with at least two co-morbidities (hypertension, heart disease, sleep apnea, can't remember all of them, but I have at least two!) Will insurance approve me? Who knows? The feedback from insurance so far has been very encouraging. Oh, I have to mention that Dr. Quinn's PA and Medical Assistant are REALLY nice! Best of luck!! pre-op Mt. Sinai, Dr. Quinn
