Guest guest
Ken - The GI specialist we use has told us that for some people some forms of gluten can be introduced depending on what caused the intolerance. A leaky gut can heal and sometime limited amounts of gluten may be introduced, depending upon what other allergies or intolerances a person has. People with celiac disease, I think, on the whole must stay gluten free for life. Our doctor (who specializes in autism issues also) has said that our son may be able to try oats a few years down the line. I don't know anyone who has reintroduced gluten successfully but then again I don't know that many people who are gluten intolerant. I think the answer will become clearer as research into the autism-gut connection goes forward. Good luck! My readings have always found that gluten intolerance is a lifetime thing. Logically, I feel it should be correctable as one improves the overall health and some research lately appears to be agreeing with my idea. But I would think one has to remove all the " bad " problems in the system such as toxins, GI tract malfunctions, etc. and rebuild the total digestive system before this would be possible. Great goal or ridiculous? Anyone? Thanks in anticipation, Ken Gullan >>
