I don't think Nick wanted to attack you but just to state that 'the surgery is partially reversible so why all the debate?' I think the responses regarding post-op stomach size were important tangents to the original statement that the surgery is reversable. All in all, one person responded (erroneously) that the DS wasn't reversible. Others corrected that person and pointed out that it was PARTIALLY reversible. Then, people commented about post-op stomach size. I honestly didn't see any disrespectful posts but it seems that two of the posters ( and Patti) felt that somewhere their thoughts on the matter were disregarded or disrespected. I think there are other emotions involved here -- HEather wanted more attention paid to the fact that her mom supported her and Patti feels that her experience isn't validated because she's had a revision and had a more difficult time than most post-ops on the list. What you both need to hear really has nothing to do with the issues that were addressed in the e-mails: -- it IS great that your mom supports you! Patti -- your experience is VERY valid and speak up anytime! all the best, Noverr-Chin co-moderator, duodenal switch lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 Dr. Gagner/Mt. Please don't let anyone make you feel unwelcome;. There is a spectrum of experiences after the DS, and your story is needed here as much (more!) as anyone else's. With people like me coming on every now and then crowing about how easy it has been, people need to know that there is another experience that can be had! You are not the norm, but neither am I. The post-DS experience runs the gamut, and people who are researching owe it to themselves to consider every possible outcome, even one like yours that hasn't been a breeze. Don't let anyone make you feel censored here, OK? Hugs,
Guest guest
Patti, I didnt know your history...But I do know that I come here to learn the truth and that can only be done by getting a full picture and that means that everyones experience is valid. Thank you for sharing! *hugs* Lisbeth Patti Skiba wrote: : I am sorry if I made any waves on the this board, or offended you. I would never hurt you or anyone intentionally. I was asking simply because I have had a hard struggle with my DS, and losing weight. I did not have the easy time of losing weight that most have had on this list. I have struggled for every pound I lost. I am almost 2 years out, and the only reason I still stay on this list is because I still hope to learn, and to hang on to every hope I possibly can. Every one has a different experience and and it is this that I hope to learn from. This is it for me, Dr. Gagner says if I don't lose with a 50 cm common channel, their is no more that can be done.
