Guest guest
Well, I'm down to 202 today -- from 204 yesterday. This is what it's like for me when I start my 'plateaus'... I gain a little, lose it, maybe stay at the lowest weight I was for awhile then drop again!!! I was surprised that I'd even GAIN anything during this process but I think it's all par for the course. One's body definately tries to 'fight back' against the weight loss and holds unto whatever it can until it can hold on no longer... I must admit I'm really ITCHIN' to get below 200.. that will be my next big goal (my first was to lose 100 lbs). My last goal after that is to get into the 160's-170 to be at my 'normal' bmi range for my height (5'10 " ).... that's only 30=40 lbs away!!! OH MY GOD!!!! KEEP THE FAITH -- WE CAN DO IT! all the best, TEresa lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 Dr. Gagner/Mt. Sinai/NYC almost 10 months post-op and still feelin' fabu preop: 307 lbs/bmi 45 now: 202 lbs/size sweet 16/large-MEDIUM in normal people's clothing! It will be a little bit yet. What really caught my eye is the fact that you are 5'10 " and hoping to get down to the 160-170's. I am 5'10 " also and I thought I would be happy if I ever get to 225lbs. Maybe my goals is not low enough. I guess I will see where I am in a year and reassess where I want to be. Guest guest
, You and I are at the same place...It seems that I am going to be a 192 for a while...I think that after a while the body just says hey this is where I wanna be and guess what I am not going to give up the last bit as easy as I gave up the beginning weight.....I guess this is my way of having to admit that it is time to get with an excersize program LOL Lisbeth 254-->192 ---------------------------------

I wasn't sure if I'd ever get there but now that I've lost over 100 lbs at 9 months out, I thought 'hey, maybe it's possible???? " LOL 170 would be just fine with me -- that's 30 more lbs than where I'm at now. I'm going by the Metropolitan charts for bmi which are on the 'low/thin' side. I can't believe that being in the 160s (which does seem pretty thin to me) would be considered 'normal' in terms of bmi. We'll just have to see where my body ends up... Actually, I never asked my surgeon what he thought my 'goal' should be... I think it really depends very much on the body and where IT feels most comfortable. Sure, exercise and good eating will help one get there faster and/or stay there --- but I don't want to drastically alter my lifestyle to keep 10 lbs off, you know??? I want to keep walking, keep active, eat right and hopefully work out with weights a few times a week (to tone up and also avoid oesterporosis)... Hopefully my body will go that low and I feel comfortable there. I'm really enjoying myself here --- at almost 200 lbs -- and size 16! I think the numbers aren't as important as how one looks (and more importantly) how one feels. I don't remember being a size 16 before when I was around 200 -- I think I was an 18 or 1x even. I think the inches have flown off!!!! It really must be the inches, too because I've gone from a sweater size XL to a size MEDIUM even though I've physically only lost 15 lbs, man! LOL I am totally shocked that I'm even here now --- and that I possibly could go to a lower weight/dress size... I mean, I'm NORMAL after a few decades of struggling with weight, going up and down, experiencing health problems and self esteem issues related to weight --- I am really, really enjoying myself getting some nice lingere, clothing and being able to just 'put something on' and look good! What a relief! all the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 Dr.Gagner/Mt.
