I´m now changing the healh insurance for my family, i´m in doubt what

to proceed regarding my 3 years old RSS daugther.

We also plan to visit Dr. H. in the near furute.

What are the most commun exames that Dr. H. use to ask for ?

Thanks

I am sorry I am a bit confused by your email. But will try and help.

Did you ask what are the typical exams, meaning tests??, that Dr. H

would request? Because the most typical diagnostic and lab tests that

are done by Dr. H or other peds endos aren't usually covered by med

insurance by a " yes " or " no " based on the type of test. For almost

all insurances, standard lab testing is covered more by whether or not

the provider is " in network " or " out of network. " Sad to say. So you

want to know if a) Dr. Madeleine Harbison is covered (that would pay

for your office visit) and B) if Mt. Sinai Medical Center is covered

(which should cover your lab testing).

So, the typical testing that she does are complete blood workups. She

might refer you to a geneticist for genetics testing but this is rare,

and this is one where you would definitely check with your insurance

first.

She often runs tests (not necessarily at the first visit but possibly

later) to rule out reflux or delayed gastric emptying -- maybe an

upper GI, or a swallowing study, or a gastric emptying scan.

Sometimes she may need to order a glucose intolerance test.

I hope this helps.

medical insurance doesn't usually cover a " type " of test -- what would

be important
