Guest guest
Hi My name is and I'm sort of new to this list. I do a lot of reading. I've noticed this kind of " thing " that is going back and forth here regarding RNY vs DS. I just wanted to share with you my experience of how I came to decide DS was right for me. I learned about weight loss surgery through the " Carnie " story. I picked up on the " Spotlight " website, and went into their message board. I just asked a few questions that were of concern to me, like what happens if you get an ulcer. Apparently there were some people from this group who must monitor that website, because I got a couple replies that clued me in to the fact that there was another WLS available. In a very subtle way, I was guided to duodenalswitch.com, and the rest is history! I'm on my way to my first consult, and to test the quality of my insurance. What I'm trying to say is, maybe we can't educate everyone of the benifits of DS, but it would be worth the time to look for those who are at least asking the right questions. I wish I could remember the two people who pointed me in the right direction, but to me, I will be forever grateful for their efforts. Thanks!
