Guest guest
Hello everyone, its been awhile, we have been without power till today. So I finally can get a little cooler, Thank Heavens!!, We live in Mobile Alabama. We have made it through ,now we are starting the clean up, I was blessed, my house is still livable. Thank you for the prayers, now just pray for us to get gas and to get parishable foods, so far we only have one grocery store open yesterday that had milk it was a mad house in that store. We waited in line for gas for 3 hours, only not to get it , ran out before we got to it. But we will survive. Amber Chavis Austin 7 non-rss, Grayson 2 on the 13th. Guest guest
Amber, Is there anything I can send to you that you need? I feel so helpless watching the news with so many needing so much. My sister is contacting our church to find out if they know of any churches down there that we can send things for distribution to people. Please let me know. Guest guest
Amber, My prayers are with you. I live in Shreveport, La. We have family from the Hammon, Tickfaw area up here. It's really sad, because they just got their electricity and water on, but are scared to go back due to people raiding houses for food with guns. I have a cousin and his wife that stayed behind to keep an eye on their houses. They are staying with some family members and are running on generators there. It's really a shame that this is going on. The news stations aren't even going in that area because their so focused on New Orleans. Why do people have to resort to killing and making a tragedy such as a hurricane even more of a tradegy. We in Shreveport are doing all we can for all the evacuees that have come here. We have supplied food, water, toys, clothes, baby items. You should see all the strollers, high chairs, cribs, diapers, furniture that has been donated. It's amazing!!! We have several shelters including the Hirsch colisium, LSUS college auditorium, even Harrah's casino where my husband works has opened a shelter on their property. We are going there today to donate some other items. The schools here are taking in evacuee students so they can have at least a little normalcy in their lives. I could go on and on and even talk about some very touchy subjects, but won't. I just pray for everyone in New Orleans, Mississippi, and Alabama. Tammy in Shreveport, La.
