Hello everyone, its been awhile, we have been without power till

today. So I finally can get a little cooler, Thank Heavens!!, We live

in Mobile Alabama. We have made it through ,now we are starting the

clean up, I was blessed, my house is still livable. Thank you for the

prayers, now just pray for us to get gas and to get parishable foods,

so far we only have one grocery store open yesterday that had milk it

was a mad house in that store. We waited in line for gas for 3 hours,

only not to get it , ran out before we got to it. But we will survive.

Thank goodness you guys are OK! I didn't think anyone from Mobile was OK!

What an utter mess. It is truly a blessing that you are all safe.

How did your other family, friends and neighbours fair?

Hang tough! What a horrible, horrible time for you all. Keeping our prayers

Amber,

Is there anything I can send to you that you need? I

feel so helpless watching the news with so many

needing so much.

My sister is contacting our church to find out if they

know of any churches down there that we can send

things for distribution to people.

Please let me know.

Amber,

I'd like to help, too, but I don't know if there is a way to get the

stuff to you. Would you let us know? I'm happy to run to the UPS

store or the post office later today and send whatever you may need.

Glad to hear you are ok. I just keep praying for everyone because thats all we

could think of doing after donating. Can I mail you some food? I work near the

post office. Is the mail being deliveried to certain areas? My heart goe out to

all of the people effected. We need to get our military back here to help our

people than being over seas worrying if they have family to come home to. Let me

know if you need me to mail anything. Food, clothing, toiletries, etc

Amber,

I am so glad that you guys are doing okay. It is awful to see the

devastation down there from the hurricane. Please update us when you

can on how you all are doing. And, like everyone else says, let us

know if there is ANYTHING you need. Many of us feel so helpless and

wish we could do something to make someones life a little easier.

Please update us,

Thank you so much for your offers, We are all doing okay, My husband is a

police officer for mobile so I haven't seen him much, now they say that he may

have to go to new orleans. Its been hard trying to clean up with the kids, but i

have put a dent in it. We have one grocery store open, and one wal mart that

opened yesterday. I have enough food for a week or so. The mail ran yesterday

for the first time yesterday. but i don't think UPS truck are running. I still

haven't recieved are SSI check, I hope it comes soon. But please continue to

pray for us. Gas was 41.00, for a half a tank. and we waited 3 hours. No they

have set rations of 20.00 a day, so now you will have to go get in line

everyday. Grayson 's birthday is on the 13th of september, wont be much of a

birthday, and last year we were in the hospital. poor guy.We will survive, Thank

you so much for your support. . Thank you Again.

Amber,

My prayers are with you. I live in Shreveport, La. We have family from the

Hammon, Tickfaw area up here. It's really sad, because they just got their

electricity and water on, but are scared to go back due to people raiding houses

for food with guns. I have a cousin and his wife that stayed behind to keep an

eye on their houses. They are staying with some family members and are running

on generators there. It's really a shame that this is going on. The news

stations aren't even going in that area because their so focused on New Orleans.

Why do people have to resort to killing and making a tragedy such as a hurricane

even more of a tradegy. We in Shreveport are doing all we can for all the

evacuees that have come here. We have supplied food, water, toys, clothes, baby

items. You should see all the strollers, high chairs, cribs, diapers, furniture

that has been donated. It's amazing!!! We have several shelters including the

Hirsch colisium, LSUS college auditorium, even

Harrah's casino where my husband works has opened a shelter on their property.

We are going there today to donate some other items. The schools here are

taking in evacuee students so they can have at least a little normalcy in their

lives. I could go on and on and even talk about some very touchy subjects, but

won't. I just pray for everyone in New Orleans, Mississippi, and Alabama.
