Guest guest
Hey, Kori, OK, I've tried this a couple of nights now & I must not be doing it quite right. Does the shoe actually bend when you plantar flex? 'Cause I don't see that happening (hence me thinking I'm not doing it right). Sorry if I'm being dense. I think part of the problem is that I'm more focused on getting the tongue to lie flat than I used to have to be with Lily's other pairs. The tongues have always been too big, but on this pair they are gargantuan! So I'm trying to keep that tongue pulled over & press her foot back into the shoe at the same time & probably not doing a good job of doing both. I recall someone else (ee?) saying that they trimmed the tongues back. I'm tempted to give that a try. Thanks! Kim frogabog wrote: Kim, Try this: when you put the shoes on, open them up wide and lie her foot into them with it pointed (plantar flexed - opposite of dorsiflexed) and with it plantar flexed, push her deeply into the heel pocket. Then, while holding tight fold the tongue over the top tightly and hold it stationary (tight) and then apply the middle strap. At this point, you can then dorsiflex her a bit and do up the other straps. This should press her into the back a bit more. The shoes are so forgiving that they bend nicely in the heel when you plantar flex and pop right back into shape once the foot is in. Pull up on the rubber in the back should it buckle a bit, this will help tighten the heel area. LMK how this works, she's still little so while this works well for us it may not for you as well but I think it will. Guest guest
Kim, I was never able to put on the PM's while plantar flexing 's feet. I always have to dorsiflex them into the shoes but have no problems when doing them this way. I agree that the tongue is a little big, but I am too chicken to cut it down.
