Guest guest
I would be interested to hear what you find out. My dd had an asym face and I did alot of research about it. Have you seen a cranio-facial specialist? If not, I would think that would be your next step... and try and see one who is a genetisist. Before we knew about tort or plagio, we though my dd had hemifacial microsomia. Our cranio-facial team help rule that out. There are several facial website out there with alot of info. www.ccakids.com is one of them. Please let us know what the drs tell you!!! Oh, and if you have pics of head shape or face, you can post them for others to see. HTH! Jen Mom to Luli - 4 yrs old Torticollis, Plagio, Syringomyelia Ortho appointment (plagio and brachy eliminated) Hello All, About two months ago, my husband and I discovered that our daughter had an asymmetric face mainly a bigger right cheek. We thought right away that the asymmetry was due to flat head on the right side. As the first defense, we started repositioning to stay off the right side of her head. At the same time, I went from doctor to doctor to get a referral to a special clinic in Toronto (Sick Kids Hospital-Orthodics and Medical Devices). All of the doctors said not to worry that all would be well. Me being a very impatient person, did not believe that by waiting and giving it time, all would be well. So I begged and pleaded for a referral to the clinic. Finally, we got the referral and went to the clinic on Tuesday. The ortho took pictures and measurements and decided that plagio and brachy was out of the question and that her head was perfect. He indicated that she should see a pediatric plastic surgeon to evaluate the drooping right cheek and lip. When we heard that we were being referred to the plastic surgeon we were apprehensive as we would not want to put through anything like that. I don't know, I am glad that plagio and brachy have been eliminated but on the other hand, I am scared that we may discover that may need surgery. I would like to ask the group whether anyone reading this has had a similar experience and can offer any advise or a personal story. Thank you very much Karolina
