Guest guest
Hi All, I just wanted to share something that may come in handy for anyone with a young RSS child. I saw a very good RSS knowledgable devel. ped. in Aug, and when I told him I was still nursing, he said, why? you should stop. The reason, he said was because the other supplemental drinks have more calories per ounce, unless you still need to for emotional reasons. Even though I stopped with my others around a year, it just didn't feel right because she's so small. I have been nursing only morning and night since she turned one, and now I am so glad I didn't stop, because now that she has been so sick for the last 2 weeks, and on her worst days, she has refused everything else but my milk. I think this will be my saving grace for this winter of illnesses. I'll stop nursing after this winter. Then I read from our fellow mom in Japan how good this milk is for digestion. So, good for the flu, I would think. She has done well with keeping the milk down, even when she still loses some of the pedialyte. I think it might be because she's swallowing more air from the cup, and whenever she'd burp later on, it would cause her to gag and vomit. So I switched to a straw, she doesn't seem to get as much air now. I thought this would be over yesterday, and especially by this morning, but she vomited the 2oz of pedialyte about an hour after I gave it to her. So this is the 4th day! Is that normal? I also noticed if I put her down for a nap right after I give her a couple ounces, she'll keep it down, same at night for bed time. Guest guest
Good for you! Autumns problems with always being sick and ear infections begin with when I weaned her from bf and the only reason I did so early (9 mos)was becasue I was pregnant again and I nursed through one pregnancy and I didn't have enough milk and I was so concerned with Autumn getting enough calories, so I slowly weaned off. She got ear infection after ear infection, sickness after sickness and wouldn't eat/drink. I also nursed my oldest son that long, he was severely allergic to milk and had a lot of feeding issues, but bf was the only thing that kept him going too... Thank you for posting! I hope Dasia feels better soon! mom to Autumn, Summer, Ocean, Skye > > > > Hi All, > I just wanted to share something that may come in handy for > anyone with a young RSS child. Guest guest
How is Dasia? I'm trying to catch-up and was wondering how she is doing. Let us know. - H > > > > Hi All, > I just wanted to share something that may come in handy for > anyone with a young RSS child. Guest guest
Thanks for your concern H! I'm so sorry you have been through so much! And still so concerned for everyone else. Dasia is all better, as of yesterday has her appetite back. I'll be keeping purell by the door from now on, for as soon as the kids get home from school! advocate22003 wrote: How is Dasia? Guest guest
- that's a great idea. I make the boys wash their hands as soon as we walk in the door from wherever we've been. And, I keep baby wipes in the car and intermittently make them wipe their hands. But,.....with all my efforts - my kids are constantly sick. - H > > > > > > > > Hi All, > > I just wanted to share something that may come in handy for > > anyone with a young RSS child. Guest guest
I am glad Dasia is feeling better! Also,we just started doing the same thing last week! I have a large pump of hand sanitizer by the front door and everyone has to use it as soon as we come in. I am hoping it will help some... mom to Autumn RSS, Summer, Ocean, Skye > > > > > > > > Hi All, > > I just wanted to share something that may come in handy for > > anyone with a young RSS child.
