Guest guest
Thanks to everyone who responded to my post about question for propective doctors. As it happened, we got such a good explanation that I didn't really need them. We got to the clubfoot clinic at 12:30 and put our name on the list. It seems to be a first come, first served sort of situation. At 2:30 or so, they finally called us back. Dr. van Bosse sat down and explained what exactly clubfoot is, how is used to be corrected and how it is corrected now. He was very personable, I thought and I really appreciated that he didn't rush us through the consultation. Most of what he said I already knew, either from my own experience or my research, but I felt assured that they follow the Ponseti method completely. He introduced us to Dr. Lehman and two sets of parents and kids. One was an infant that was having his second set of casts applied (amazing the difference already!) and the other was a one year-old who was just starting to walk. You absolutely couldn't tell there had ever been anything wrong. All in all, it was a good experience. Very reassuring, especially for my husband who has no experience with any of this.
