, I'm not an attorney but I believe there is such a thing as " fair

use " . Unfortunately you may need a lawyer to understand quite what this

means. :)

I check for author and permission (and save the emails) before posting

recipes, essays etc.. on newdiets.com, but then that's tantamount to

publishing them. Posting to a mailing list is perhaps different. Then

again, maybe not.

If your cousin has a sister in law that's an attorney maybe ask them... or

hopefully someone else has checked this out and can tell you their

experience. I'm a professional web developer and wouldn't dream of posting

more than a small quote w/o permission. Otherwise there'd be quite a few

newspaper articles on newdiets reprinted from both mailing lists and the

FEAT newsletter, but none of the publications I've asked to date has gotten

back to me so I've given up on that source for articles.

Just my two cents, hope it's helpful.

Can anyone tell me is it legal to post recipes from a book if I clearly name the

author? Or am I only allowed to mention the book it came from?????? I have a

good recipe for thanksgiving I would like to share-but the recipe is form a book

and not mine so I wanted to check if it was legal before I did it. f
