BAD SUPPLEMENTS

Hello.

Still experimenting here at home. Just bought some Cal Apatite with

Boron and soaked two of the tablets in 6 oz. of vinegar for 30

minutes to see how it dissolves. IT DOESN'T. They were still rock-

hard, and probably pass throught our lower-acid digestive systems

that way, too.

Found the calcium citrate/malate which IS supposed to better absorbed

than plain citrate. It's the same stuff that's put in Tropicana OJ

and other food products. It was researched and put together under a

patent by Proctor and Gamble, and has since been bought by GNC who is

the sole manufacturer of this calcium combination. GNC markets it

under " Calcimate. " The two Calcimate Plus tablets in vinegar

dissolved quite nicely. (Also tried this last night with Citracal;

they, too, dissolved well.)

I know that MCHC (microcrystalline hydroxyapatite) is used in a

couple other brands besides Cal Apatite (manufactured by Metagenics

DBA " Ethical Nutrients " ), such as Nature's Purest, but with the

equivocal information out there about this type of calcium and

because of its limited availability, I'm gonna stick with the

citrate/malate.

Also tried dissolving Twin Lab's Daily One Caps. " It dissolved much

better than the Cal Apatite, but much of the powder was still stuck

inside the rubbery capsule coating. And here I thought that capsules

dissolved SO much better and faster than tablets! Still checking for

more multivitamins.

Best,
