Liam had evaluation's today for OT, PT and ST.. Well, he qualify's for all 3

.. I know he would for the OT and most likely the PT, but did not think he

would for speech. I mean I see problems in his speech but I am always told

it is normal for his age. Well, some of it is, but because he wears a

hearing aide she is going to qualify him, and put him with the ST that

specializes in hearing impaired children. Also she feels he does not hear

the s sound and he has a lisp. Also because of his feeding issues, I never

had the ST deal with feeding issues before, it has always been OT. The OT is

going to deal with the sensory issues and the feeding as well as some fine

motor. The PT says he can do everything that is expected for his age, but

not well enough for his age... So he will be getting all 3, 2x a week....It

may go down to 1x a week, but they are going to put it through for 2x, as it

is easier to go down on the sessions rather then up, as far as insurance is

concerned......

It's wonderful that Liam qualifies for all of those therapies. The

more the better. It is so important to catch these kids as young as

we can. It makes a tremendous amount of difference in their later

years.

I love your quote about not worrying until you see the animals lining

up two by two. Funny you should have that one.... I was thinking of

that story when Hurricane Katrina hit. I'm not making fun of that

one. I'm serious!

Yes, and no.. I really did not think he would get Speech, because when he

was tested last year they said he was age appropriate.. But he qualify's

mostly because of feeding issues. She said his Language was Above his age

and articulation was pretty much normal except for S's..

OT I knew he would get.. BUT she said he mostly qualify's for the sensory

issues not the fine motor. She said his motor skills were age appropriate!

Which surprised me...

PT she said he can do all the things that he should be able to for his age,

but not age appropriately!

So yes I was a bit surprised by the OT and ST.. Not so much the PT...
