Guest guest
, Wow! Congratulations, you're doing great. I can't wait for my initial consult with Dr. Ren and it's good to hear nice things about her and how well her patients are doing. How is she as a person, does she have a good " bedside manner " , how is her office staff, are they helpful, especially with insurance issues? Again, I'm glad to hear you're doing so well. ann 3 week post-op check up today Hi everyone. Am just back from my 3 week check up at Dr. Ren's office. I have to say that part of my time there that made me happy was talking to a gentleman in the waiting room who asked me some questions about my surgery. He knew next to nothing about WLS and was about to meet with the doctor! So, I answered his many questions and referred him to the wonderful DS site. He said he doesn't have a computer and asked for my phone # so that he could call if he had questions (he had better not have a computer!hahaha). Yes, I gave him the # figuring it could be the difference in his choosing the DS or not(or worse-something else!). I also encouraged him to find a friend with a computer who could print stuff for him off the site. Good deed for the day done. Anyway, besides Dr. Ren not initially recognizing me, another highlight of the day was getting on the scale. I'm 3 weeks out and 26 lbs. down. Wow! How exciting. Guest guest
Hi ann, thanks for the conrats! I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ren. She really is wonderful. When you're with her, not only can you sense her competence, but that she really and truly cares about each and every one of her patients. Her bedside manner is nothing but warm and caring, and that goes for her nurse practioner too(Gio is just a great!)and the rest of her staff. Just speak to any of her patients and they will tell you the same. The hospital, NYU Medical, has an excellent reputation as well. I'm one of the very lucky ones who didn't have an insurance battle. In fact, finding out I was approved was pretty anti-climatic. About 2- 3 weeks prior to my surgery date I called their office and asked (her asst.)if I had been approved. She put me on hold for about 5 minutes and then came back on saying yes, I had been. That was it. So, overall, I'd say you're in great hands! If hou have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! ~ D. > , > > Wow! Congratulations, you're doing great. Guest guest
Yes , 26 lbs. less does feel great! I have a long way to go, but feel like I'm starting off on the right foot! My jeans have gotten very baggy, which is exciting. I have not been measuring myself and guess I should? I figured I'd know just by how my clothes fit(or not). Also don't have a scale as of yet. I don't want to get seduced into the daily weighing ritual, but that may be hard to resist as the pounds come off. Thanks again for the support. Can't wait 'til I'm over 100 lbs. down like yourself!
