I stuggle with it everyday! I lost weight about 4

years ago and keptit off till I became pregnant

again.... but I had a sweet tooth that would never

stop! Heck.. I wanted dessert after breakfast! But I

found a way to control it... I still had my chocolate

everyday.. but it was a bit diffrent. Anyway. try

putting the dress you want to get into in the kitchen.

or put the scales in the kitchen. Those were some

visual things that helped me stay on track.

Hang in there!

I was battling my weight for as long as I can remember. I have

tried every diet in the book. Then Max came along. Oh, it was so

hard.... Give him fattening foods, peanut butter, tofu ice cream

(he's allergic to milk), peanut butter crackers, french fries, etc.

Of course I had to taste whatever he was " eating. " I did gain a

bit. And I worried so much about our daughter (now 20). She was

thin, but she had taken a liking to all of Max's foods and felt

cheated that she could not have them. She began to sneak them and

food would suddenly disappear. She hit puberty and her weight just

skyrocketed.

Fast forward to today... We have fought the battle and we are

winning! I think we are used to having Max's fattening stuff around

and it's not as tempting anymore. I have lost 22 pounds and

exercise every day. Jenna is working fulltime and is not as tempted

by the foods, either. (She has her days, but for the most part she

has lost weight and looks so much better.) It has taken us so many

years to just find our own methods in dealing with avoiding Max's

stuff and taking care of ourselves. And we are doing it! I

actually think we are healthier now than before.

I am not trying to trivialize what you are going through. I

understand so well. You get tempted by the food, you are frustrated

that your child doesn't eat, you eat the food to comfort yourself

and so that it does not go to waste after spending all that money on

it.... It just goes round and round.

Try to exercise just a few minutes each day. Start with 15 minutes

of walking up and down the stairs. Or take a walk. Or park a few

spaces further from the door. And drink LOTS of water! That is a

big factor in weight control. Soon you will see that it is easier

to avoid temptation. Slowly the scale will move in the right

direction.

Trust me. I've been there and I'm winning!

LOL Jodi Z just described my house as well!

Weight gains, going up and down are constant for me as well.

My 16 year old non RSS daughter was really upset with me for years, I would

buy the " fattening " food for Adam and tell her she couldn't touch it. And,

like Jodi, I found she was still dipping into the stuff. But luckily for me,

when she hit puberty she started to get real tall and at the same time she

had started walking to school (instead of my driving her) and she started to

thin out. Now she is so darn afraid of loosing her thin body that she

regulates herself (can't tell you how many times when we have a Mc's

night she puts me and my hamburger/fries to shame when she says " I want a

salad " . UGH!)

I also find that when I make Adam the pasta meals that he loves, I just have

a couple of " bites " and then go to my own meal. It seems to placate me to

have a couple of bites off of Adam's plate (as I make his plate up) and yet

I am not eating an entire dinner of that yummy pasta that I could kill

for!!! Once in awhile I will treat myself to allowing that TO BE my dinner,

but will use a tiny bread/butter plate so I have it in moderation.

We have said it many times before on this site, wouldn't it just be perfect

if there was a way we could give our kids some of our FAT??? Oh if only the

world were so easy. And I am tall, 5'10 " , so I wouldn't mind giving him 4 or

5 inches of my height as well!!
