Guest guest
Hi everyone. I'm kinda laughing as I'm reading these recent sushi posts. On Tuesday night, ONE week post-op, um, I had a little bit of sushi. Was that terrible? Figured it was squishy, had some protein, plus the rice would be...binding. Honestly though, I had very little. First I had a half of a cup or so of Miso soup (more protein)and then ordered 2 rolls, cut into 8 pieces each (instead of the usual 6), and only had 1-2 pieces of each (one was a California roll and the other cooked eel roll). Now, my stomach later did make some interesting rumbling noises, but then again, it seems to like to do that since the surgery, every so often. I was in the bathroom a few times that night, but I don't know if it was from that or simply part of my body's normal recovery period. Actually, the last couple of nights I've had to get up a few times to hit the loo. I hope this is temporary! So, was I wrong to eat that? I figure that I'll learn most from trial and error, yet I don't want to do something stupid. My body has been very cooperative during this process and I feel lucky because of that. Don't want to disrespect it in return. Well, at least I didn't have any Sapporos that night (Japanese beer) that night! Anyone have any good recently post-op suggestions that aren't too boring? At least of the more upgraded mush(or not) variety? Let me know if so! Thanks D. in NYC 11/6/01 with Dr. Ren
Guest guest
, I went from being a Szechuan and Hunam snob back to good ol' comfort food, Shrimp in lobster sauce. Other great, soft, comfort foods are meat loaf, chili, chicken croquettes (with lots of gravy!). Marcia Anyone have any good recently post-op suggestions that aren't too boring? Guest guest
; I had to laugh reading your email! I haven't had the surgery yet...still trying to find a place in Northern Calif. to have it done. But sushi is one of my most favorite foods in the whole world. Love that wasabi and ginger too! What's funny is that I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome and when I eat sushi I'm " running " for the bathroom within 20 minutes!!! It goes right through me already. Hey! Maybe the surgery will slow it down a bit! lolol Take care. Sandy --- mushnyc@... wrote: > Hi everyone. I'm kinda laughing as I'm reading these > recent sushi > posts.
