Guest guest
I came up with this recipe today and it turned out pretty close to what I used to make pre diet days so here goes Dough 4 cups gf flour mix 3 tsp xanthan gum 1 1/4 t salt 1 and 1/3 cup shortening 2/3 cup plus ice water mix the first three ingredients well. Then cut in the shortening till it makes corse balls. Now sprinkle the water over it and mix with a fork till the dough holds together. divide it into four sections. roll it out on a gf floured surface to 1/8 inch thick. cut out a circle 5 inch diameter.Transfer to a greased baking sheet -repeat the process till dough is used up and refridgerate the circles. Filling about a pound or so ground beef salt, pepper, garlic, onion, chili powder to taste 1 med onion diced 1 small can tomato sauce 1/2 cup Mr spice BBq sauce 1/4 cup ketchup Brown the beef with the spices and onion. Then add remaining ingredients and simmer for about 30 minutes till flavor is good. Now take one circle fillone half with the meat sauce{do not over fill} flod circle in half and pinch the edges closed. Repeat till all meat filling and dough is used. Bake at 400 in preheated oven for 15 minutes or till like brown and flaky. If you have a gfcf cheese sub this would be good in the meat filling too-we just dont have one we like.
