Guest guest
check bar length... curious if we're seeing something with the bar getting close to the bolt to bolt (or screw to screw in thePM's) range. Sores in this area are of great interest to me right now and I'm racking my brain trying to figure out why it's happening. Ask to send you a big piece of the gel padding for you to cut. Then, cut it to the shape of the rubber on both sides (cut one side, then lie it over the top of the foot and trace the outline of the rubber) all across the top of his foot. adjust bar length if needed, shoot for heel to heel shoulder width and get the gel in there. Do you have the pads with the tongue keeper slit only cut into the leather or the ones with the padding also cut? If it's cut through the pad, are you seeing anything under the slit area? If so, let know and he'll send you a set that is not cut into the pad. I am going to talk to tomorrow and I'll mention this to him if you do say his bar is a bit too short now. It may be key to stopping this kind of sore although I am not sure. Love to hear what you find out about bar length. Guest guest
, We had a similar problem with Mallory.....we used a clear duoderm over the reddened area so we could see how the skin was doing and not have to remove the duoderm and possible irritate the skin anymore. We also used molefoam....we would put her socks on and then put the molefoam on her sock above the irritated area. This worked for us and we were able to then tightened her PM's to the buckle where it needed to be to keep her heel down without causing any sores (it does cause a temporary red area in the shape of the molefoam which goes away during her break time!) HTH, and Mallory (rcf--PM's 22/7)
Guest guest
Hi When first went into the s he always had a red bit across his joint where I had done the buckle up really tight...he has quite sensitive skin. I never really worried about it as I supposed I knew if i had a really tight buckle across my foot, then I would probably have a red mark too! We did make sure and keep reasonably thick socks on though, which I think helped. And once 's hours were reduced to 12-14 hours, the redness disappeared. the redness never bothered ..if it had, then I probably would have been more concerned. Hope this helps Stella > > I thought I'd pose my question here. has been wearing the > brace since the end of Feb. Guest guest
My daughter has the same problem. She actually gets nasty sores. Call and ask him for some of the gel pads. Make sure the bar is lengthened properly where the shoulders are the same as inner heal to inner heal also. This is how we are ridding of my daughters.
