Guest guest
Hello, Has anyones child used this Growth Hormone before?(Saizen) na has been given a six month life time approval from our insurance company to start. I don't understand only six months max but i'm assuming it will be reavaluated in six months. We are suppose to go to training July11th. This company keeps calling asking if she can be in thier study. has this happened to any one before? This one lady calls everyday, i feel like she is a aggrivating telemarketer. I have heard of other GH types used but not this one. They have 2 injection devices, one cool click which I have heard mention and one click. The company wants to delivery the meds now,is that how it is done? We don't have class till July. Dr. H wanted us to wait to she her but this woman says they will stop the process and we will have to reapply all overrr again which took over six months to get. I'm going to call my insurance company and see if they can change the start date and find out about this cazy lady calling me at work and home each day. It took us a while to decide what we would do, then it took the insurrrance company forever to approve. We will be going to the convention and I am nervous about traveling with GH being it would only be a week starting it. I feel that starting the day after we get back is better because we are near her pedi and other doctors. Who know maybe after next week we will be starting them sooner. We see her genetics and orrtho. I'll keep you posted. Marcy
Guest guest
Hi Marcy, Many children on this list are on growth hormone. It is a very safe medication. I know of few side affects. My son has been using it for almost 3 years now. He is growing great. When we first started, our health insurance only approed it for 6 months. This seems to be a common practice. I think the want semiannual reviews to control costs etc. If you run into trouble with the insurance company, contact Magic. They have some very knowledgeable people who can help you out. Also, many growth hormone companies have programs where they will provide growth hormone while you get insurance coverage straightened out or can't afford insurance. Some people have been in a study. The problem with studies is you don't know if you are getting growth hormone or a placebo (harmless fake). It is up to you if you want to participate, if they called me, I would say NO. I would want to make sure my son got the perscribed medication. Just my preference. Also, if they kept calling me, I would tell them no just because they are being too much of a pest. As for a starting date, I would suggest starting when you feel comfortable and ready and not when the drug company wants you too. There are several growth hormone companies and if this one cannot co- operate with you them you can tell them you will ask the doctor to perscribe another brand. As far as I know, most people get the hormone deliverd to their homes via overnight shipping. Some get it at their local pharmacy. We get ours from Nova Factor and they ship to our house. We get a delivery today in fact. Our health insurance has us make a $30 co-pay. I hope this answers some of your questions. Guest guest
Hi Inga, There are 2 problems with the overnight shipping. 1). We have a freezer full of those small freezer packs. We are constantly trying to give them away to people who do a lot of camping etc. 2). It comes in a styrafoam container. We also have a ton of those. They hold a six pack of coke just fine but they don't have a handle. Again, we are always trying to give these away. A couple of times a year we just haul the whole lot to the dump. Our town doesn't have trash pick up. Everyone goes to the dump. Saturday mornings is the town social at the dump. That is where we get all the latest news and gossip. Also we get to go " shopping " at the " Rocky Pond Mall " aka the town dump. Everything is a trade off.
