> Hi ,

I am not sure when you are arriving, but if it is on Thursday, in the

afternoon/evening, there is usually plenty of things to eat such as

cheese & crackers, fruit, cookies, lots of junk food, etc. Ok, so

it's not " dinner " , but after filling up on all that stuff, that

usually becomes our dinner. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but

it can be a bit pricey. For breakfast & lunch, the hotel sells

foods & beverages a la carte in an area near the convention meeting

rooms. This isn't too cheap either, especially if you have a lot of

people in your family attending the convention. For breakfast, I'll

probably eat in the room after getting some things that do not have

to be refrigerated at the grocery store across the street. You can

rent a refrigerator for your room if you need it though. For lunch,

they have sandwiches, salads, and fruit available for purchase (again

not too cheap), but we do buy lunch at the hotel. For the past 2

years, we have been lucky that lunch has been provided to RSS

families' at the pool party on Saturday, but that is not a

guarantee. There are parties on Friday & Saturday nights, and dinner

is provided at them (you may have paid for this when you registered

for the convention). The prices for this are reasonable.

The convention meeting rooms can be cold, so I recommend bringing a

jacket or sweater. Shorts and a t-shirt are fine most of the time if

you plan to venture outside the hotel, but believe it or not, it can

get kind of chilly in the summer there. They don't call Chicago the

Windy City for nothing! Last year, we were on Navy Pier wearing our

tank tops and shorts freezing our butts off, and it was kind of

chilly on Saturday at the pool party too. So, I'd bring a few

outfits for all kinds of weather!

Hope this was helpful!
