Guest guest
Separate you kids now. When my oldest was 2 he got chicken pox. I didn't separate him and my then 4 month old baby girl because I thought she already had been exposed - it was too late. I had heard that since she was nursing and I had it only 10 years prior, she probably would not get it. Well, my son's case was mild but my daughter got it real bad. The sores were everywhere - in her ears, mouth, eye lids etc. I found out later that the severity of chickenpox is determined by the length of exposure. My son was only around the child he got it from for a short time. My daughter was around her brother day and night. If only I had been told sooner. As for autism, I have no advise. They are both neuro-typical. > Have any of you had your kids get chickenpox and notice that the reaction is > more severe because of their already existing health challenges? > > My oldest daughter might be coming down with it and we're worried about the > 15 mos old who does have a ton of allergies and gut problems already... > > > > ô¿ô > ~ > Davo
Guest guest
I read that if you realize that it is chickenpox early enough , i think in the first 24 hours of breaking out , you can give them acyclovir and it helps lessen the severity. Guest guest
There's an herb called " propolis " that may ward off a bout with chickenpox if taken after exposure. (use in small quantities for children). I haven't tried it myself but was told years ago that her newborn was exposed from a sibling's child. She put a drop on her nipple (since she was nursing) & the baby never got it (supposedly others did). Check at the HFS; might be worth looking into further. Guest guest
My kids went through chickenpox. I didn't notice any obvious difference between NT and those with the gut issues. My youngest was about 11/2yo, who was still nursing, didn't even get sick with it.
