Guest guest
What wonderful news!! It's always a relief when the doctor says everything looks good. For david-we found it easier to do one block of " freedom " time making sure that he realized/equated bed time with shoe time-or magic shoes as he calls them now. It also was easier since he is in daycare during the day-we would give his teacher a designated time to take the shoes off and away they would go! Basically-we backtracked the freedom time from his bedtime-so he's asleep by 6:30pm-shoes would be off then at noonish to make the 18 hours!! Guest guest
Kaci, Congratulations to you and on getting to this point! I bet it feels like you have a whole new baby, what with all that free time. I think most people do their free time in one stretch, that's how we have always done it. I think when we were in 16-18 hours we put the shoes on at 7:00 p.m. and took them off at noon the next day, unless he was napping, then he would have them on a bit longer. Eventually, we went to a 7-11 (16 hrs) routine around 10 months I think. Glad to hear everything is going so well, hope he enjoying his new freedom! > > Today we had 's 3 month follow up appointment. Guest guest
We do ours for a straight stretch just because is one of four kids and that is the only way I can commit to doing it the way it needs to be done. LOL is in the brace 18 hours a day now and we usually take our break from 1 pm to 7 pm. Carol - appointment update Today we had 's 3 month follow up appointment. Dr says everything looks good and reduced hours to 16-18 per day, which is what Dr. Ponseti suggested when we emailed him pictures a few weeks ago. 's sores have healed nicely and he's been keeping his shoes on much better since we got the new ones. Do most of you leave the shoes off for a straight stretch or break it up into different times? Thanks, Kaci (mom to , 12/17/05, bcf, FAB 18/7)
