I don't know the answer to this, except to say that we have never had

problems from the salsa. (Sometimes from the corn chips that he adores with

salsa, but not from salsa alone.) As I recall, Megson had some theory

about why pepper (the salsa kind, not the salt-and-pepper kind) is

beneficial. I have also heard that spicy foods are good when you are

fighting a cold, so maybe there is some anti-viral or anti-bacterial effect?

But I don't really know.
